It’s September, and that means back to school. You’ve got your kiddos out the door, ready for another year of learning and soaking up knowledge, but what about you? When’s the last time you checked in on your voiceover education? Keeping up to date with the latest trends and getting feedback on your delivery will help you stay on your “A” game.
This is a great time to check in with your voiceover coach (or find a new one to work with, to get new and different opinions, a different approach, etc.). There are also lots of opportunities for voiceover training, education and networking in the coming months. — The Mid-Atlantic Voiceover Conference (MAVO) takes place Nov. 7-8 in Herndon, VA
Keynote speaker will be video game guru and voicemaster Dave Fennoy. There are lots of other VO big-wigs, so check it out!
–The Global Voice Acting Academy (GVAA) presents “Building Character” with David Rosenthal, Saturdays starting Nov. 7.
This is a four-week class on developing character archetypes. GVAA also offers monthly voiceover workout groups. Check out their website for other classes and webinars.
— Randy Thomas, the voice behind the Emmys, presents The Second Annual Voice Mastery Summit Nov. 20-22 in Ft. Meyers, Fla.
According to their website, this group’s mission is is to Educate, Engage and Empower all voice actors who are passionate about telling stories, sharing messages and informing others, with the power of their voice.
