I’m currently taking a great home-study course with industry legend Pat Fraley called “Everything You Need To Know But No One Teaches.” It’s full of awesome tips and tricks to help us stand out from the crowd and really deliver top-notch professional work.
Here’s one of Pat’s great insights into voiceover work:
All voiceover work is trying to accomplish one of three things:
1. Teaching the audience
2. Touching the audience
3. Amusing the audience
Our challenge is to determine which of these is appropriate to the script we’ve got in front of us, and then to be the best teacher, toucher (is there a better word for this? probably) or amuser possible.
Good stuff to think about!
