Normally when I have a live session with a client, I use Source Connect, ipDTL, or Skype. I’ve also had clients set up conference calls that I dial into. But today I had a client who did not have a conference call feature, nor did they have access to the above mentioned programs. And the end client and my direct client were not in the same place. So basically, I had to figure out how to get both of them to connect with me on my iPhone. What to do?
Well, YouTube and the Internet to the rescue!
Thanks to the great Interwebs, I now know that you can actually have a conference call from your iPhone! This is a super handy trick to know and will no doubt be helpful for a lot of voice talent out there.
To Make a Conference Call from your iPhone:
- Call your first party as usual
- Tell them you are going to put them on hold. Then click the “add call” button.
- Dial the second party.
- Once the second party has answered, you will see that a button labeled “merge calls” appears where “add call” was before. Click this button, and VOILA! INSTANT CONFERENCE CALL!
I hope this knowledge is helpful. Let me know if you have any other great tricks!
